2025 David Todd Oration and Conferment of Honorary Fellowships

Join us at the 2025 David Todd Oration for an insightful sharing by Prof. Philip Wai-yan Chiu, Dean of Faculty of Medicine of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The Oration, entitled “Surgery in 2035”, will be held on the evening of 12 December 2025 in conjunction with the Academy’s Annual Fellowship Conferment Ceremony.
The David Todd Oration, which has been annually held since 1995, was established as the most prestigious lecture of the Academy to honour the late Prof. Sir David Todd, our Founding President and his profound contributions to the Academy. Past speakers of the Oration include top government officials as well as renowned experts in various fields of medicine.

During this year’s Fellowship Conferment Ceremony, the Academy will confer Honorary Fellowships to two exceptionally distinguished Fellows — Prof. Gilberto Ka-kit Leung, Immediate Past President of the Academy, and Prof. Richard Yue-hong Yu, Senior Advisor of Hong Kong College of Physicians.
