The Task Force on Disclosure, Apology and Alternative Dispute Resolutions under the Academy’s Professionalism and Ethics Committee (PEC) will organise a Workshop on Disclosure, Apology and Alternative Dispute Resolutions on 1 June 2024 (Saturday) at 9:00am – 1:00pm. It will be held at VIP Room, 3/F, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building.

This workshop aims to raise Fellows’ awareness on Academy’s Best Practice Guidelines on Disclosure, Apology and Alternative Dispute Resolution, impart to participants the planning and communication skills involved in making disclosure after a patient safety incident through role-playing (when to disclose, what to disclose and how to disclose), introduce the Apology Ordinance, its scope of protection, and its exclusion, enable participants to practice making disclosure and apology through case-study and role-playing and to introduce active listening and reframing skills involved in dispute resolution.
