Amidst the global wave of medical collaboration
and technological innovation, the medical
systems in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen
each possess unique strengths. How to learn
from one another, complement each other’s
advantages, and integrate knowledge in specialist training, clinical practice, and medical innovation has
become a key issue in the medical field.
From 16 to 21 March 2025, the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, Shanghai Municipal Health Commission,
the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission, Shanghai Medical Association, Shenzhen Medical Association,
and the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Medical Specialist Training Center jointly organised the ‘Hong
Kong–Shenzhen–Shanghai Young Specialist Doctors Shanghai Study Exchange Summit’, bringing together
over 40 young specialist doctors and medical education experts from the three regions.
Standardised Specialist Training: Sharing Regional Expertise to Advance Medical Talent
Development
On 17 March, the ‘Hong Kong–Shenzhen–Shanghai Specialist
Training Standardisation Seminar’ was held at the Shanghai
International Convention Center. Medical education experts
and young specialist doctors from the three regions gathered
to discuss specialist training models and future development
directions.
The seminar was chaired by Professor Xu Jianguang,
Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture, and Health
Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress and
Vice President of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.
Key speakers included Professor Philip Li, President of the
Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, and Professor Zhong
Shan, President of the Shenzhen Medical Association.
