Debit notes with adjusted rates have been dispatched to Fellows earlier. According to the Academy Council's resolution, subscriptions received by the Academy after 30 June will be subject to a surcharge of HKD1,000 for those paying full subscription rate (or on a pro-rata basis of the HKD1,000 for those paying reduced subscription rate). In addition, the College may also impose a surcharge for the College’s subscriptions where applicable.

All payments must be received by the Academy before 30 September. Online payment by credit card (either Visa or MasterCard) through iCMECPD is now available.

*The Academy’s Honorary Fellows, Fellows aged over 70 or have reached 70 before the beginning of the next subscription year do not need to pay annual subscription.

The Academy has been approached from time to time by the Hong Kong Police Force and other government departments, The Medical Council of Hong Kong, The Dental Council of Hong Kong, as well as legal firms, for assistance in identifying Fellows who could be expert witness. In this regard, the Academy has invited Fellows who are interested in being expert witness to submit information to the Secretariat since 2010. A List was compiled and has been made available to many enquirers upon formal request since then.

The role of the Academy is a coordinator, and Fellows selected to assist in particular cases would be contacted directly by the parties concerned. The Academy will not be involved in any of those cases. Fellows who wish to have their names added to this List may now complete and return the reply form to the Academy before 31 August 2019.

Those included in the List should be able to conduct themselves fairly and professionally, and be able to produce an impartial expert report of adequate quality.

This prize aims to recognise excellence in research conducted by young Fellows of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine.

Submissions on any subjects that relate to clinical practice and research in any specialties of medicine are welcomed. Research must have been published in a peer-reviewed journal no earlier than 1 January 2018.

Interested Fellows are welcome to submit abstracts of not more than 500 words, together with a completed Submission Form and a copy of their published manuscript.

Submission is open to only principal authors who have been awarded HKAM Fellowship within the past 10 years. The winner of the award will receive an engraved gold medal and a prize equivalent to HK$25,000.

Major maintenance and repair works on the external walls of the Academy building are now being carried out. The Phase I works are expected to complete in August 2019. For safety reasons, the Fellows’ Garden on 3/F is now closed temporarily until further notice.
