Fellows' Handbook

The Academy is an independent institution with the statutory power to organise, monitor, assess and accredit all medical specialist training and to oversee the provision of continuing medical education.

The Academy constitution consists of the HKAM Ordinance (Cap 419), Regulation and Bylaws. The Ordinance covers the objectives of the Academy, composition and powers, and the admission of Colleges and Fellows. The Regulation is a subsidiary legislation on the conduct of general meetings, Council election procedures and regulations governing Colleges. The Bylaws cover admission criteria for Fellows, termination of membership, subscriptions and duties of office bearers.

International Network for Continuing Medical Education and Continuous Professional Development (iCMECPD)

The iCMECPD is established by Hong Kong Academy of Medicine with a goal of organizing, assessing, and accrediting postgraduate medical specialist training and continuing medical education efficiently and it will allow the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and participating colleges to pool their expertise and resources, and to work in concert towards efficient implementation of training/CME programmes.

Fellowship Card

The Fellowship Card has been recently renewed including a QR code, which will be used to capture attendance for certain CMECPD activities. Fellows will be requested to present their Fellowship card when using the Academy facilities. New Fellows are expected to receive it in two months after admission.

Premises & Services

The Academy of Medicine Jockey Club building is custom-designed to provide a modern conference and exhibition venue to the medical profession to facilitate continuing medical training, education and exchanges. The Building's flexibility enables the Academy to tailor the space to the particular needs of the organisers.
