2012 Annual Subscriptions
Demand notes for the 2012 subscriptions will be sent to Fellows shortly. Please be reminded that it is Council's policy that subscriptions received by the Academy after 30 June will be subject to a surcharge of 5% on the subscription amount. Please settle your subscription as soon as possible. Fellows aged over 70, or have reached 70 before the beginning of the next subscription year, do not need to pay any subscription and will not receive a debit note. For Fellows who have authorized payment via bank transfer, payments will be deducted from their bank accounts automatically.
David Todd Oration
Video of the 2011 David Todd Oration, entitled "Non-invasive prenatal diagnosis: from dream to reality" and delivered by Prof. Dennis Lo, FRS, Li Ka Shing Professor of Medicine & Professor of Chemical Pathology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, has now been uploaded to the iCMECPD (http://www.icmecpd.hk). Fellows who were unable to attend the oration can log in iCMECPD to view Prof Lo's presentation.

New features of the Primary Care Directory & Invitation to enrol in the Primary Care Directory
Primary Care Directory
The Primary Care Directory is a web-based directory containing personal and practice-based information of different primary care providers to help the public find their own primary care providers. The Directory is being developed in phases, starting with sub-directories of doctors and dentists, followed by sub-directories of other primary care providers.
Registered doctors and dentists with self-declared commitment to the provision of directly accessible, comprehensive, continuing, co-ordinated and person-centred primary care services are eligible for enrolment in the Directory.
The Directory was launched to the public in April 2011. The public can now access the Directory website to find family doctors or dentists that are suitable for them.
New features of the Directory starting from January 2012
A number of new features have been added to the Primary Care Directory this year as follows:
More information available to the public
- Personal photo can now be uploaded and to be seen by the public in the profile of the doctors/dentists.
- Opening hours of the clinic can now be listed in three different sessions. If the doctors/dentists are on leave during a specific period of time, they can also indicate if their clinic services are provided by other doctors/dentists.
Easier way of communication
- Doctors/dentists can provide correspondence address to the Primary Care Office of the Department of Health, such that they may receive letters and promotional materials at home/ places other than their clinics.
More user-friendly application procedure
- For new applicants, they can choose to provide basic information within a short time to finish their applications and upload soft copy of their Hong Kong Identity Card on-line. Upon successful application, they can then log in at their free time to provide more personal and practice-based information.
Invitation to enrol in the Directory
Doctors/dentists who have not yet enrolled in the Directory are cordially invited to enrol now. Simply visit the website at www.pcdirectory.gov.hk for on-line enrolment.

The Legal, Privacy and Security Framework for Electronic Health Record Sharing Public Consultation The Food and Health Bureau has launched the Public Consultation on the Legal, Privacy and Security Framework for Electronic Health Record (her) Sharing, which will run from 12 December to 11 February 2012. The Framework aims to give legal protection to data privacy and system security prior to commissioning of the her Sharing System. Fellows can visit the her Office website (www.ehealth.gov.hk) for more information. |
