HKAM participating in 43rd Singapore-Malaysia Congress of Medicine
An Academy delegation consisting of the Academy President, Vice President, Immediate Past President, and Presidents from colleges of Community Medicine, Dental Surgeons, Family Physicians, Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Otorhinolaryngologists, Pathologists, Paediatricians, and Radiologists attended the 43rd SMCM during 6-8 August 2009. The delegation was invited to attend the Joint Council meeting of the Singapore and Malaysia Academies on 7 August to discuss tripartite collaboration among the Academies in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. Prof. Raymond Liang, Prof. Tony Chung and Prof. L.K. Hung were also speakers at the HKAM session during the Congress.
David Todd Oration/Annual General Meeting
This year’s AGM and David Todd Oration will be held on 18 December 2009. The Academy is delighted to have Prof. Ron Zimmern to speak on Genomics, Personalised Medicine and the Role of Public Health in the 21st Century at the Oration. Prof. Ron Zimmern is the Executive Director of the PHG Foundation, the successor to the Public Health Genetics Unit which he established in 1997.

Annual Scientific Meeting 2009
5 – 6 September 2009, The Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Building
This is the first scientific meeting jointly held by the CSHK and MSA. Dr The Honourable York Y N CHOW, Secretary for Food and Health was invited to give the prestigious GB Ong Lecture. In the one and a half day programme, a broad array of topics including clinical audit in surgery, training in Hong Kong and Macau, G.I. surgery and application of botox, etc would be covered in forms of symposia and lectures. You are cordially invited to attend the captioned meeting. There would be a Diploma Ceremony Dinner on the evening of 5 September 2009 at which the prestigious awards and medals would be presented to prominent figures who have outstanding contributions to the College.
