The Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons (HKCOS) –
Public information services

The College is proud to present their web (www.hkcos.org.hk/pic) for public education.

This web is part of the activities of HKCOS’s “public information services”. Besides this public web; the College has conducted a series of healthcare talks in the RTHK in 2007 and monthly public lectures in the Science Museum since April 2008. HKCOS first introduced the public web in Oct 2007 and this is the new version of their web just launched recently. All the information are presented bilingually. There are short stories highlighting the orthopaedic-related issue with public interest, e.g. articles on recent event of neck injury in a young gymnast: Liu Xiang’s (劉翔) heel pain and Tiger Wood’s knee problem. There are backbone articles on various orthopaedic injuries and diseases.

HKCOS realizes that the web is in the developmental stage and is far from perfect. However, under the outstanding leadership of Dr. Louis Hsu (Chairman of the Public Information Committee, HKCOS); the College is confident that they can provide user friendly and accurate orthopaedic knowledge to the public.
