Election of Council Members

At the close of nominations on 10 September 2003, the following nominations were received. Fellows will receive the ballot papers in early October and should return the same to the Secretariat by 17 November 2003, 5:00 pm. Fellow may vote for ANY BUT NOT MORE THAN FIVE candidates.

10th Anniversary Congress – New Challenges in Healthcare

10th Annual General Meeting

The 10th AGM of the Academy will be held on 19 December 2003 at 6:30 pm at the Pao Yue Kong Auditorium. Fellowship conferment ceremony and presentations of the Best Original Research by Trainees competition will be held on the same day.

New Fellowship Card

Fellows will receive a new Fellowship Card in November. The new card will be embedded with a smart chip. Fellows will be requested to present their Fellowship card when using the Academy facilities. This card can also be used to capture attendance for certain CME activities held at the Academy. It will be first used to capture attendance at the Academy’s 10th anniversary congress.

Anniversary Book: In Pursuit of Excellence

The 10th anniversary book of the Academy, In Pursuit of Excellence, will be published in November 2003. Fellows will get a copy of this book shortly.

Academy Lounge

Fellows are welcome to book the Academy Lounge for BBQ or exhibitions. The Fellows Garden next to the Lounge is a good place for BBQ party of 20-30 persons. It provides an exclusive and private environment for warm gatherings of family members and friends. Please click links below for
standard BBQ menus and booking form. The Lounge itself can also be another choice for exhibiting paintings and photos. Fellows who are amateur photographer or painter can consider exhibiting their masterpieces at the Lounge. Chinese Paintings Exhibition at the Academy Lounge

Ms. Carrie Ka-Lee Cheung (M.Med.Sc., HKU), a talented and enthusiastic painter, will be displaying her Chinese lotus paintings at the Academy Lounge in November and December of 2003 during the Academy’s 10th anniversary celebration.

Academy policy on reduced rate subscriptions

The Academy last revised its policy on reduced rate subscriptions in 2000. Detailed policy can be found in the Fellows Area in the HKAM website. Fellows are requested to note that reduced rates will be effective from the next subscription year after submission of application. Fellows should therefore submit their applications before 31 December 2003 if they are eligible for and wish to enjoy the reduced rates in year 2004.
