The renovation work has been delayed, as the Academy was requested to submit the renovation plans to the Building Department for vetting and approval. It is expected that works can start in early November. The Academy has received about 100 responses to the survey sent to all Fellows earlier. Most respondents (appr. 80%) indicated they would use the facilities after 6:00 pm on weekdays and about 64% indicated they would not need breakfast service. The House Committee thus recommended to Council that the opening hours of the 3/F facilities be from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm Monday to Saturday, and from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm on Sundays and public holidays. This will be reviewed after operation for a period of time.
