Visit
to Beijing
The
Academy was invited by the Ministry of Health to attend a working seminar on
“Training and admission of specialists on Mainland”.
The seminar will be held in
Beijing
on 5th July. The Academy
will send a 5-person delegation including the President and Vice-President (Edu.
& Exams) to attend and report on the
Hong Kong
system.
Election
of Council Members
The
term of office of the 5
elected/co-opted Council member will expire at
the conclusion of this year’s annual general meeting.
Election process will start in July,
and results will be announced at the AGM to be held on 16
December 2005.
Admission
of New Fellows
At the extraordinary general meeting held on 16
June 2005, 163 new Fellows were admitted. They
will be invited to attend a conferment ceremony in December.
The conferment ceremony will be held in conjunction with the David Todd
Oration. Prof. Zhong Nan-shan,
Chairman of the Chinese Medical Association, has kindly agreed to be this
year’s orator. More details will
be announced in coming months.
Amendments
to Principles and Guidelines on CME/CPD
The Education Committee recently proposed some
minor changes to the guidelines. Council
endorsed these amendments in June. To

website.
Awards
The Academy is delighted to announce that Dr. C.H.
Leong, Immediate Past President of the Academy, was conferred the Dental
Fellowship ad hominem by the Royal
College of Surgeons Edinburgh in June.

Forums on Influenza Pandemic Preparedness of Healthcare Workers
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) will organize
4 open forums to arouse healthcare workers’ awareness of the risk of influenza
pandemic and prepare them for the risk. Four
identical forum will be held on 6th, 12th, 15th and 21st
July. Several Colleges have
