Collaboration with Ministry of Health on Specialist Registration in Mainland

The Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Health (MOH) on 14 April 2006 to facilitate the development of a specialist registration system in Mainland China.  The signing of the MOU is an important milestone in the history of the Academy. The MOH has set up a working group to coordinate and monitor all relevant works.  Representatives of the Academy will be joining this working group to offer input.  The Academy will also be providing professional advice on specialist training and examination on the mainland.  This MOU signifies the Nation¡¦s recognition of the standard of specialist accreditation and training undertaken by the Academy since its inception.  With this MOU, Fellows of the Academy will be recognized in Mainland for their distinctive specialist expertise, and bilateral training will take place.  All these activities will enhance the standard of the medical professional both in Hong Kong SAR and other parts of China.
