January 2004 ˇ@ Result of Council Election There are 5 vacancies
for the category of Elected Council Members.
The Academy received 6 nominations before the deadline of 10 September
2003 and the postal ballot was conducted subsequently.
The ballot papers received before the deadline on 17 November 2003 were
counted by KPMG, the Auditors of the Academy.
The results of the vote-counting are as follows:

are therefore elected and their term of office began immediately following the

HKAM Manhattan Platinum Card/ Fellowship Card
Fellows
should have received a new Fellowship card in November 2003.
This new card is embedded with a smart chip and can be used to capture
attendance in certain CME activities organized by the Academy and Colleges. Fellows
holding a HKAM Manhattan Platinum Card can also use it as Fellowship card.
For security reason, Fellows will have to bring their Platinum card in
person to the Academy for card
initialization. After the Platinum
card has been initialized, it can be used as a credit card as well as Fellowship
card to capture CME attendance electronically at certain events.
However, Fellows will have to initialize their Platinum card whenever a
new card is issued to them. Card
initialization can be done during normal office hours at the Secretariat on 10/F
of the Academy Building, or at the Academy Lounge on the 3/F of the building

HKAM 10th Anniversary We
are pleased to announce that the 10th Anniversary Book of the Academy has been
published. It is entitled In
Pursuit of Excellence and is a must read for Fellows. Each Fellow is
entitled to have one copy of the Book. Extra copies are available at HK$200 per
copy and can be purchased at the 3/F Academy Lounge.

Academy held a 3-day conference to celebrate its 10th anniversary
from 28th-30th November.
Around 700 participants registered for the congress and the Academy was
honoured to have the Chief Executive of HKSAR, The Hon. Mr. Tung Chee-hwa
attended to officiate the opening of the congress.
2004 Annual Subscription
Academy Lounge Following a recent survey that Fellows seldom use the facilities after 21:00, the Academy has decided new operation hours for the Lounge as follows: Monday to Saturday: 12:00 to 21:00 Sunday and public holidays: 09:00 to 21:00

The Academy Secretariat will be closed at 13:00 on 21 January 2004 and resume operation on 26 January 2004. The Dining Room will be closed at 20:00 on 21 January 2004 and resume operation on 29 January 2004. The Academy Lounge will be closed at 20:00 on 21 January 2004 and resume operation on 29 January 2004.
