In line with our continued cooperation with the Shenzhen Medical Doctor Association, and with support from the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission, the Academy formally established the SZ-HK Medical Specialist Training Centre in July 2019. The Centre is currently housed in The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital in Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China.
The objectives of the Centre are to further improve the standard of healthcare services in Shenzhen by offering expert advice on the development of structured medical specialist training and enhancement of competency of medical professionals. The Centre also presents an opportunity for specialist trainees from Hong Kong to gain clinical experience in Mainland China in future. The Governing Committee of the Centre is co-chaired by the Academy President and the President of Shenzhen Medical Doctor Association, and comprises members from the Academy and its Colleges, Shenzhen Medical Doctor Association and representatives from The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital.
The Centre’s plaque unveiling ceremony was held at The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital with presence of representatives from Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission, Chinese Medical Doctor Association and Governing Committee members.
