Background
The Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine, formed in February 1996, is the newest among all Colleges of the Academy, admitted on 16 January 1997 with the following objects:
(1) to promote for the public benefit the advancement of knowledge of science and art of Emergency Medicine
(2) to develop and maintain the good practice of Emergency Medicine by ensuring the highest professional standards of competence and ethical integrity
(3) to act as a body for the purpose of consultation in matters of educational or public interest concerning Emergency Medicine
(4) to promote postgraduate training and research and to conduct examinations in Emergency Medicine for the public benefit
